Reds 2B Brandon Phillips' sister Porsha was drafted in the 3rd round by the San Antonio Silver Stars of the WNBA. She's a 6'2" forward out of Georgia (transferred from LSU) and was First Team All-SEC this year.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.
