So this means we can throw out their 2007* and 2004* titles, and now their 1918* title too?

So they don't have a clean title since 1916? :ohno:

2004 has an asterisk to signify the greatest choke a team has ever had in a 7-game series?? :ugeek:

Eh, just bad timing for a four-game losing streak. Doesn't compare to blowing a 6 1/2 game lead with 12 games to play by losing 10 in a row. :coffee:

Of course they don't compare - blowing a 3-0 lead in a series, when leading in the 4th game in the bottom of the ninth only to have the greatest postseason closer in history blow a save and then be unable to hold a lead in the following game in the 8th inning, and then going home and losing game 6 to a bloody sock and being blown out finally in Game 7 isn't just a four game losing streak, it's a choke of monumental dimension. You're right, the Phillies '64 team just can't compare to the magnitude of choking that were the '04 Yanks - the Yanks have that history all to themselves. :coffee:

Maybe you're right. Losing 10 games in a row isn't simply choking. That's sucking. ;)

See, glad you agree - the '04 Yanks are the biggest chokers of all time. See, wasn't that hard, was it?

So Babe Ruth winning anything after this would taint his teams titles in the future.
Anyone that played with Ruth also taints a future title. Ruth Tainted Gehrig who tainted DiMaggio, who tainted Mantle, who tainted Billy Martin, who tainted Reggie Jackson and Joe Torre, Torre tainted Jeter and there you have the tainted empire.

Gil, what you just said makes no sense at all. Why would Ruth be tainted because the Cubs threw the 1918 World Series??

On that train of thought, why would the Red Sox title be tainted if the Cubs threw the series then?

I just added more BS to your pile Joe

Memories must be contained only outside of the 5-borough area, as you conveniently left out the 2007 Mets.....
