The future at shortstop for the Boston Red Sox apparently will be getting a early, unplanned start Sunday when Boston calls up Jose Iglesias to replace Marco Scutaro who will be heading to the disabled list. Iglesias will not be an everyday player as Jed Lowrie took over the starter role a couple weeks ago, but Iglesias will see time as a defensive replacement and on days Lowrie sees action at 3rd base and 1st base when Kevin Youkilis and Adrian Gonzalez get days off in the field.

They can give him a start once in awhile...I'd prefer Lowrie for the immediate future. And I feel that Youkilis and Gonzalez should never not be in the lineup...too valuable.

He'll definately get starts. Youk and AGon dont come out of the lineup much, but Ortiz sits against lefties sometimes and when he does either Youk or Cameron been DHing that opens another infield spot those days.

If Lowrie can put up a full solid season with a .375 OBP and around 20 HR he could find himself as an everyday guy next year between 3b and DH while Youk does 3b, DH and 1B and AGon does 1b and DH and Iglesias becomes the everyday SS.
