Cleveland Cavaliers win the NBA draft lottery,
get the first and fourth selections next month
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Cleveland Cavaliers finished with the first and fourth choices in the first round of next month's NBA draft following Tuesday's draft lottery held in Secaucas, N.J.
The Cavaliers benefited from their deal with the Los Angeles Clippers that sent Mo Williams to the Clippers and Baron Davis and a first-round pick to the Cavaliers, as that was the pick that was rewarded by the ping-pong balls and moved into the top three selections. The Cavaliers' own selection, which held the second-best chance (19.8 percent) for the No. 1 pick, was bumped to the fourth spot when Utah also moved into the top three.

But will it help. Even with 1 and 4, do you think Cleveland will be relevant in the next 5 years?
If they take Irving and Kanter I don't see any reason why they couldn't contend in the next 5. Even if they suck next year and have a lottery pick there are plenty of good players coming out next year, which is projected to be a better draft anyway.

This year's draft is SOOOOOO weak. They will draft Kyrie Irving out of Duke but I can't see him being an instant difference maker along with whoever they will draft at number 4. There is also the possibility they will trade up to get the #2 pick as well.
Now that thw Wolves have signed Rubio, they are more interested in Williams or Kanter than Irving. If the Cavs draft Williams, I could see the Wolves trading Irving or picking Kanter.
