A suspect in the Opening Day beating of San Francisco Giants fan Bryan Stow at Dodger Stadium is in custody, the Los Angeles Times reported Sunday, citing police sources.
A Los Angeles police SWAT team took the suspect into custody early Sunday morning at an apartment building in East Hollywood, according to the report.
The apartment building manager told the newspaper that police had their guns drawn and used loudspeakers to call out to the occupants of the apartment, who were removed.
One of the men apprehended in the raid was one of two suspects in the beating, police sources said, according to the report.
Police declined to offer details or give the name of the suspect, the newspaper reported.
The apartment manager told the Times one of the people apprehended by police was bald man who had tatoos on his arms and neck -- a description similar to a police sketch of one the suspects.

Fucking LA.
I'm surprised that on all the trips I have made to check up on my projects in the area (some of which are in ghetto ass East LA), I haven't had any instances with the locals.

I found this article but on the radio they reported that they had detained 2 suspects. I am sure more info will be available by tomorrow morning.
I sure hope these guys have some money in the bank and some really nice posessions so they can help pay some medical bills and a heafty sum of damages as well before getting killed in prison.

That is probably because when you go down there you make sure you are rollin' with BlackFalkin. He runs So-Cal.

I'm not defending these guys by any means, but what was the story behind this? Did they jump the Giants fan just because he had some Giants gear on or was he talking shit and then got a few knuckle sandwiches?
There are two sides to every story. Certainly, a comatose, multi-week hospital stay beatdown was probably overboard, but if the Giant fan threw first, then oh well.
Honestly, I haven't followed the story at all, so I may be way off.

I hear ya on the who threw first thing.
I don't know the whole story...just the one side. We will find out the other side soon.
POST EDIT: They only got one of the suspects. I was mistaken in my earlier post.

From every account I've read/heard they did indeed jump him for the sole fact he had Giants gear on at Dodger stadium.
EDIT:
Even if he had said something stupid there is zero reason to put a dude in a coma over talking shit. If that was the case there are a lot of lawsuits that need to be overturned because "they started it by talking shit" just because a legal defense

Then lots and lots of jail time and restitution would be the right move.

And this, folks, is why stereotypes are still a useful tool.

You know, it's not just a multi-week hospital stay - the guy reportedly has massive brain damage and will never be whole again for the rest of his life. They pretty much left the guy for dead. There's no amount of smack talk that justifies that - heck, even if the guy threw a punch (which by all accounts he didn't do as he was jumped from behind), lethal force still wouldn't be anywhere close to appropriate.

Agreed, but you don't know the story any more than I do. If someone ever threatened me physically in a parking lot of a sports venue, he's getting my hardest right hook to the side of his noggin. It's sort of an instinctual punch to knock someone out. I'm not going to measure the lethality and give him a 75 percenter. He's getting every ounce of force I can muster. If I end up driving a fragment of his skull into his brain, well, I'll explain it to the judge and take my chances.

This was MUCH more than a "right hook" to the side of the head. This was a fucking mobbing

Wasn't it 3 against 1? Or was it only 2 against 1? Either way, there is no way you can go in front of a judge and argue self defense.
Besides, even if it was 1 on 1, and it was self defense, that doesn't excuse you leaving him to die. Sorry, there is no "other side to the story" here that give these scum bags a pass.

I never said anything about giving them a pass. I don't know the whole story yet. That's why they have trials.

Sure. Just like the OJ trial cleared things up. I thought OJ was guilty, until I heard the whole story.
And then I knew he was guilty.

There really can't be much more to the story....eye witnesses and those who know Stow, and pretty much everyone else has said he didn't do a damn thing other than wear a Giant jersey to a game at Dodger Stadium.
Regardless of how much "shit talking" they may have been when the full story comes out, beating a dude to 99% dead will never be saw as "self defense" to anyone with at least 1/10 of a brain....and or not from Jersey.
