THREE false starts in the 100 in NBC's pro meet from NY.
Listen for the gun, will you?!?

Wow...

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

And then NBC doesn't even wait to announce the winner so that they can go to 90 minutes of pre Belmont coverage (Mullings won by less than .01 if you didn't know)
Re: Wow...
what are the rules for false starts in those events?
it should be that if you false start, you're automatically DQ'd.
but it seems many places charge the first falsie "to the field" or whatever, and don't DQ,
and thus some of the yahoos will intentionally false start just to try and throw the others off,
or they try to anticipate the gun and whatnot.

Jay: It USED to be one for the field, and then everyone is on notice. Last year, they changed it at the international level so that it matched everywhere else: one and done. In this case, one guy jumped and got DQed. Then a SECOND guy got caught, followed by a THIRD guy. Finally, the fourth time, they got a clean start. One of the craziest 100s I've ever seen
