wow have lost 17 of 18?!  :ohno: Amazing thing is that most of those games are actually pretty close and looks like they could have won.

god I hope not. If so, I actually might find myself rooting for a Philadelphia team for a change. :ohno:

It would be a dream matchup, IMHO. Two of the three most rabid fan bases and the most annoying one of all not there.

Yeah, but you'd have the 2nd most annoying fan base if not the first there.

Yeah. Red Sox fans can be pretty bad.

A Red Sox vs Phils World Series makes sense, after all they are the best two teams in baseball (slow start for Boston aside) since before the season started.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Florida Marlins manager Edwin Rodriguez unexpectedly resigned with his team on a nine-game losing streak, frustrated with his last-place club after less than one year on the job.

1-1 in the bottom of the 5th right now against the rays.

Marlins lose again 2-1 to the Rays. I believe that is now 18 of 19 losses? :ohno: :coffee:

I don't know what's more embarrassing, that they've only won one game in the month of June, or that that one win was against the Diamondbacks. :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

I would definitely say the fact that the Marlins have lost 18-19. They actually had a winning record before this stretch. Amazing thing is that they're only 8 games under .500 and they've had plenty of chances to win games during this stretch from looking at the scores.

The rest of their schedule to finish out the first half....

3 vs. Angels
3 vs. Mariners
3 @ Oakland
3 @ Texas
3 vs. Philadelphia
4 vs. Houston

80-year-old Jack McKeon takes over for the Marlins...

Amazing to think this team was actually 10 games over .500 at one point.

what is truly crazy is to look at the 6/1 standings and today's standings and see that the Twins have nearly caught the Marlins

on 6/1

Marlins 31-23
Twins 17-37

on 6/19
Marlins 32-40
Twins 31-39

The Twins have gained 13 GAMES in 19 days on the Marlins... (obvs - not in the same league - but it goes to show just how much the fortunes of these two have reversed)

regardless of SOS, I don't understand how at one point a team is 10 games over .500 and then lose 18 of 19. I know teams go through struggles at certain points in the season but this bad? And their schedule is pretty tough the rest of the 1st half until the all-star break.

as fans saw the headlines this morning that their manager quit and the team has lost its 17th of 18 they began scratching their heads saying... we still have a team???
