I've never heard of any of these guys, but it's already generating some controversy. Some Reds fans love Gomes and think it's another horrible front office deal, yet others have declared "Good Riddens (sic)". I supppose that one would see this with ANY trade, though.

Any comment?

Gomes was a projected 25/100 guy who has horribly underperformed this season.

The Yankees have tried to trade for Hernandez in the past, but have never been successful. Hernandez, 25, would be the ideal starter for them to slot in behind CC Sabathia for their postseason rotation. At the moment, it is unclear who would start a second playoff game for the Yankees.

Well, the Yankees could start the guy with the 3.23 ERA (in the AL East). Or the guy with the 3.29 ERA. Tough choice. But then again, maybe Phil Hughes, because he might be fully recovered from his injury then.
