Road to the NFC title goes through Green Bay.

Eagles will be one of the top challengers though.

Man, the Eagles' defense just got a whole lot better. :D :thumb:
BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- The Eagles have pulled off a stunner and signed Nnamdi Asomugha, the team announced.

The move gives the Eagles the biggest prize on the free agent market, seemingly out of nowhere, and one of the two best cornerbacks in football. In adding Asomugha, an All Pro each of the past four years, the Eagles now have the best cornerback group in the NFL.

The Eagles and Asomugha were in touch from the start of free agency, according to a league source, but talks truly heated up Thursday afternoon.

Until now most reports had the Jets as the front runners for Asomugha - the Eagles had hardly been mentioned since free agency actually began.

The deal is for five years and $60 million, with $25 million guaranteed, a league source said, confirming an ESPN report.

The Eagles have now drastically remade their defense in a matter of days, also adding defensive end Jason Babin and cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie...

We've won Super Bowls multiple times here in months not named February. Long, long way for that.

It's gonna be a Eagles-Patriots superbowl. I hope not, I honestly dont know who I'd root for, I hate both teams and cities pretty equally.

...I think I'd rather see the Packers repeat.

What Super Bowl would you most and least like to see?

Most: Eagles v Steelers

Least: Falcons v Bengals

The Eagles are NOT going to the Super Bowl without Jaws at QB. Not going to happen.

I can't go against Eagles v Steelers. The NFL should have a special clause that allows such a game to be played at Beaver Stadium. I know that's impossible, but it would be incredible. Hell, I don't know why they haven't done a preseason game there yet. If they made it the first week of the preseason, the field would have plenty of recovery time for Penn State's opener.

Least: Panthers vs Texans

Mike Patterson collapsed and convulsed at training camp this morning. They said he did come to after getting medical attention and was taken to the hospital.

Yikes.

In the last week. I was bitching about their clutch on their wallet just last week. Apparently Jeff Lurie saw the light. :notworthy:

It was just like a week ago that some were calling them cheapskates, now they have gone on a spending spree. Funny how quickly things can change.

Everyone plays under the same cap in the NFL obviously, so nobody can be like the Yankees, but it's nice to see the Eagles actually approach the cap in their spending for a change.

I was thinking Samuel was on the trade block, but Reid said on Mike and Mike this morning that was not the case. Are they going to play the nickel the whole game?

I read that they are trying to emulate what the Packers did last year with a nickel package on the field something like 70% of plays.

You're correct though in identifying Asante Samuel as the squeaky wheel. Basically, Andy told him that you can STFU and get playing time or keep yapping and be on the first plane to Cincinnati.

The Boston Herald is reporting that the Eagles have offered Randy Moss a 1-year contract. The contract offer was extended at some point after Moss filed his retirement papers.

OK, now the Eagles are officially showing off.

Basically, this is a move to try to get Desean Jackson to get to camp.

If I'm teams playing the Eagles I slam the ball on the ground at them. Our LB's aren't very good at all & we are thin at DT. Mike Patterson had a seizure on the field yesterday & has now been diagnosed with a brain condition - he won't be back for the start of the season. Good DE's, great CB's but DT, LB & safety are question marks.

All the more reason to play Colt Anderson at Safety. He will light up anyone anywhere.

As for the my favorite and worse Super Bowl matchups.

Worse- Cowboys/Jets

Favorite- Eagles/Broncos

It is good to be an Eagle fan this year.
