Fox Sports Southwest is netcasting the IWFL World Championship RIGHT NOW. The California Quake and the Atlanta Ravens just tossed the coin. Sirens assistant coach Julie Wicher-Shockley is providing color commentary.
So far, the Ravens are looking dominant on both sides of the ball. They stuffed a toss sweep and had a huge sack on defense. On offense, they opened in a trey formation and threw behind the slant, but then reeled off three first downs on three straight runs before getting first blood on a pass. A penalty on the PAT nullified it, but the kicker hit the 30-yard follow-on try.
Atlanta 7, California 0.

Halftime. Both teams now struggling, ATL with penalties, Cal with execution. ATL also had the opportunity to extend their lead just before halftime, but allowed the clock to run out instead. Their coach is probably going to go off about hustling up to the line instead of huddling up when the clock is running out.

The Quake FINALLY get on the board with about 9 min left in the 3rd with a short run out of the Wildcat, but their usual 2-pt attempt was stuffed. Sideline reporter Larry Centers questions the call (I agree), but the Quake have eschewed the conventional PAT all year long.
Atlanta continues to lead 7-6.

Atlanta got a HUGE pass and catch play off a bootleg, but their drive stalled at the California 10, leading to a 27-yard FG. The Quake busted the ensuing KO to the ATL 27, where the returner was forced out by the kicker.
ATL 10, CAL 7.

Quick response. First down seam pass from the Wildcat results in the receiver going in untouched for the California TD. The 2-pt is successful off the keeper from the Wildcat. Looks like the usual second half Quake surge is on.
CAL 14, ATL 10.

The Ravens are not going to go away. They score on a 10 yard run by Charmaine Chin set up by a 40-yard pass (that's 40 yards in the air).
ATL 17, CAL 14.

I don't follow this league, but I'm going with the California Queefs. I hate all Atlanta teams.

Wouldn't you know I'd lose the feed at the two-minute warning after CAL came back to make it a 24-20 game and were about to get the ball back after missing on the onside kick?

Just got the feed back.
Congratulations to the Atlanta Ravens, who held on to defeat the California Quake 24-22 for the IWFL Tier I World Championship.
ATL RB Charmaine Chin was just named the MVP of the game for all the yards she ground out.
Tomorrow is the East-West All-Star Game at 1000 Central Time.
