Thank GOD. How much WORSE could he possibly do than .179?
I think I'm about done with the "Brandon Allen" experiment.

Allen was traded today for a reliever

Closest game for me would be in Dallas or Houston. I'd have to check schedules and plan...both places are a 3 hour drive. I have an "in" for Astros games though. Hopefully I can, at least, catch him on TV occasionally.

More importantly, we beat the hated Giants to move to within 1 game.
Ian Kennedy proving with each start that he should have been an all-star.

Great win - and done with timely hitting by all Dbacks except one - and yes, I am looking at you, Kelly Johnson.
Ian Kennedy - should have been an All-Star. Great the Yankees gave him up. Some return for Max Schrerzer! (although the Yanks faired well with Granderson)

Mom, you called this the MINUTE he was drafted. Meteoric rise through the minors, absolute STUD every step of the way, and his first ML HR off perhaps the best pitcher in the NL.
We could REALLY use some stability at 1B and I REALLY hope this guy is THE guy.

nice article on the D-Backs win last night, with some glowing comments about Goldschmidt...but the funniest comment was about Lincecum:
Lincecum has a habit of kind of staring off into space between pitches. He doesn’t really take a deep breath or rub up the ball, just kind of stares blankly, not exactly the look of concentration you see with Roy Halladay or Cliff Lee, but more like the 6-year-old who has been watching TV for three straight hours without blinking. So what is Lincecum thinking when he does this?
A. Should I get a haircut tomorrow?
B. There are many reasons to love San Francisco, but I really love the pastries.
C. I still don’t understand that article I read on Huffington Post today titled, “Do Frozen Meals Free Us or Turn Us Into Barbarians?” What was that about? I’ll ask.
D. Do you think Bochy would notice if I skipped Friday’s game and instead went to “Rise of the Planet of the Apes”?

About the only thing more exciting than that is to be at the dish in the bottom of the ninth, two out, bases juiced, full count, and clout the walk-off salami to end Game 7 of the World Series.
Sounds like a kid with a lot of potential!

And Chris Young just hit a game winning 3-run HR in the bottom of the 10th...his first HR since 7/3 (114 AB's)....
Love these D'Backs!!!
