NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has urged both to work together on a stadium solution similar to that of the New York Giants and Jets, who share the New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.

I'm sure the article covers this.. but why do they need to share? Didn't Oakland just completely renovate their stadium 5-10 years ago?

So that means the gays get the stadium one week, the bikers the next? :?

OK, read the article. First, I thought they built a new Candlestick already, but I guess the Oakland Colliseum is pretty ancient too, even with the renovations.

It makes sense for them to pursue a Meadowlands-style stadium - but the Alameda county folks have to be PISSED about footing the bill for Mount Davis just 15 years ago...

I can only comment because I've visited my ex's family in Alameda a few times.

Ain't too many bikers in Oakland!

More like Cadillac and El Camino drivers, if ya know what I mean.

The only time I saw a live A's game in Oakland was in '98 or so, when Jason Giambi, Matt Stairs, Miguel Tejada and Eric Chavez were all pups. The crowd was full of Raiders types: old guys with ponytails and black tees, beer-guzzling ladies with big tats (even then), and biker dudes. Relatively few from the hip-hop generation! 8-)

For a brief second I thought this was about baseball and got excited

...even though I don't know how that would actually work

...plus I don't think you can call their field a "stadium"

This is gonna end up like the Nassau Coliseum deal for the Islanders. They won't pass a bill in CA for this.
