MLB Post-Season

OK, looks like the NL is down to 6 teams vying for 4 spots. Phils, Braves, Brewers, Cards, Giants and DBacks. The Pirates have suddenly dropped out of the race and with the way the Brewers are playing, the Cards better step it up if they want to stay in the hunt.

AL, Red Sox and Yankees are already in. Nobody really wants to win the Central, and shocker the Rangers and Angels are battling it out for the West. MLB really needs to do something about a four team division. Is there any way it's not the Sox and Yankees in the ALCS? I'm not complaining, I actually enjoy that rivalry as a neutral third party. It's good for baseball IMO.

If I had to lay money at this point, the playoffs would be:

Phils-Brewers
Giants-Braves

Red Sox-Tigers
Yankees - Angels

Just out of curiosity, why the Giants over the D-Backs?

SF scores the 3rd fewest runs in the majors. They have the 4th lowest batting average.

They also have the 7th worst fielding team in the majors.

I take it you're a believer in "pitching rules"?

The Brewers have played the Phils tough this year. But so have the Jints. Winning the pennant will be no cakewalk.

I think where you may be selling AZ short is that their CURRENT pitching staff <> the one they started the year with, and their stats are skewed accordingly.

Hell, Kennedy & Hudson just outdueled Cain and Lincecum head to head....and with the addition of Marquis as a "back of the rotation" guy I think the D-Backs are set very well for a post-season run. If they don't catch the Giants, I think there's a good chance they pass the Braves for the WC. :coffee:

This is the only drama left for the Phils. Hopefully we can help the D-Backs out & take 3 of 4 from SF starting tonight.

I really don't have a dog in the fight. I was giving you my best guess... but that's all it is, a guess.

Agreed...just trying to understand why you'd guess the Gints or Bravos over the D-Backs.

And as usual, your logic (or guesser) is flawed. :D :D :D :D :kisswink: :kisswink: :kisswink: :coffee:

Its all about ECB. No one care about either team so the easy pick is the defending champion. :thumb:

Because the Phils are beating the shit out of the Giants for you and your team can't do shit to take advantage of it. Your problem is that your series with the Phils is coming up the week after next.

Did you not watch them win we world series last year, doing exactly that?

3 of 4? I was under the impression that the Phils busted out the brooms on Bochy's crew.

Regardless, there's news out today that ESPN's Tony Bruno is in hot water over tweets he made that a Giants reliever is an "illegal alien" and that Bochy is a "coward", stemming from an incident where said pitcher doinked Shane Victorino. Bruno immediately removed the tweet and apologized both on Twitter and on his radio show, which was in progress at the time. Some, however, are not buying the sincerity of his apologies, and have termed Bruno a "racist."

Lincecum out-dueled Oswalt today (had no idea he is 4-7) for a 3-1 Giants win...finally.

Haha, Tony has been on Philly sports radio for over 20 years & makes no bones about his rooting interests. Hot water over those comments? You should hear him on a more regular basis - that's tame stuff.

Tony is a straight up douche at most points during his show. I've heard him hang up on callers mid-sentence, and start screaming at them over the radio, calling them idiots, morons, jackass, etc... all because they made a point that he didn't agree with....even though most of the time that happens they end up being right.
