If we were voting on first game of the week.ODUalum11 wrote:Packers-Saints DUH!!!!!
I'm not so sure about that. Pats, Jets, Steelers, Ravens, Colts, Texans... one of those teams is going to be on the outside looking in. I'd say Packers and Saints are a FARRRRRRRRRRRRR bigger lock to both make the playoffs.ODUalum11 wrote:Pittsburgh at Baltimore isn't a big deal to me, both teams will make the playoffs.
I agree, if it was any other week they'd have my vote but I gotta give Pack-Saints the edge just because its the season opener.89Hen wrote:The pure hatred between the Ravens and Steelers, and the fact that it seems like every game they play comes down to the wire, makes them my choice.ODUalum11 wrote:Pittsburgh at Baltimore isn't a big deal to me, both teams will make the playoffs.
Yes. It seems like the only logical choice.93henfan wrote:No-brainer: Stillers at Ballamer
Same here. Division battle between two hard hitting teams that don't like each other. Playoff seeding implications as well.93henfan wrote:No-brainer: Stillers at Ballamer
so much for Ravens-Steelers being game of the week. Games of the week so far had to be Saints-Packers, Cowboys-Jets.89Hen wrote:I'm not so sure about that. I enjoyed the hell out of the Ravens-Steelers game. I was flipping between the Eagles game.ODUalum11 wrote:so much for Ravens-Steelers being game of the week. You aint seen nothing yet, wait until they beat the Cardinals next week. It will be full blown Super Bowl mode around here. Happens pretty much every year.
Really started in earnest when they hired Spurrier. They thought he was a offensive genius and was going to lead the team back to the promised land. Of course no Redskins fans will admit to being on his bandwagon, but as an outsider here I could see it plain as day. They threw him under the bus QUICKLY as being just a college coach. Then it was Gibbs 2.0. This town was on cloud nine when they announced that one. Took all of a few weeks for people to start saying he was too old and the game passed him by. Then it was McNabb. Oh boy, here we go. As an Eagles fan I laughed my ass off. They didn't realize that the Eagles won with Garcia, Kolb, Detmer, Feeley... it wasn't really McNabb. It really is a lot of fun to see the torture the Skins fans go through every year. By week 10 they will be pissed off, yelling at me about "how many rings do the Eagles have?" and by week 13 it will be complete disinterest. People won't be able to give their tix away.

Couple of other things I learned yesterday:
Traveling on the beltway is a breeze during Redskins games.I left Delaware right after the Eagles game and got to Germantown in two hours.
Sonny Jurgensen and Sam Huff are nauseating to listen to on the radio. Sam Huff was livid after the Skins scored a touchdown because the player spiked the ball. The play by play man was trying to convey excitement but Huff was giving an impromptu lecture on the modern-day football player. Then at the end of the game, Eagle-hater Jurgensen had to get his usual cheap digs in. He mentioned that there were fewer blue jerseys than normal and that the Giants fans were very well behaved, "unlike that crew that'll be down here in a few weeks in green with the low IQs".
Yeah, suck my left nut Sonny.
Can't agree with that at all. They are the hometown crew. I want them to be homers. I'd MUCH rather listen to them do the game than the Fox crew.93henfan wrote:Sonny Jurgensen and Sam Huff are nauseating to listen to on the radio.
I love him, but Sam is getting old. Starting to sound a bit like Summerall.89Hen wrote:Can't agree with that at all. They are the hometown crew. I want them to be homers. It'll go from a 93 nightmare to a 93 fantasy land.dbackjon wrote:89Hen wrote:Shit, I forgot to warn you about that. You aint seen nothing yet, wait until they beat the Cardinals next week. It will be full blown Super Bowl mode around here. Happens pretty much every year.
So when the Cardinals win Sunday...
Could be. I seem to recall the Cards beating the Skins several times recently in dramatic fashion, no?dbackjon wrote:89Hen wrote:Shit, I forgot to warn you about that.
