Miguel Montero - best catcher in the NL?

Montero, who recently had an 18-game hitting streak, is having the best all-around year of any catcher in the National League. He leads in RBIs, hits, extra-base hits, runs, plate appearances, total bases and innings caught and is hitting a second-best .281 He has thrown out almost 36 percent of runners trying to steal, best in the majors among starters

I don't think there's any doubt.....in fact, I'm not sure there's a catcher in the AL I'd take over him....

Alex Avila for Detroit is having a great year as well - but yes, Montero may be the best catcher in the game this year.

Avila is the best catcher in the AL this year, maybe have the Dbacks and Tigers in series to settle this head-to-head.

I'll settle for Carlos Ruiz. He ain't chopped liver, and he may be the best clutch hiter the Phils have this year.

I haven't seen enough him behind the plate to know how well he calls a game, handles pitchers, but the numbers of the pitching staff suggests he must be pretty good.

He has really come into his own this year in that regard.

Accuracy.
It's a push at best, Montero has a marginally better AVG. and a few more RBI's, but McCann is having an average year and leads in HR's, OBP, OPS, SLG., BB, and K's.
