The Chanticleers are ranked 25th by Ping! Baseball. The website says “The Chanticleers may not have the talent they possessed last season, but they’ll be armed with experience and the drive to go the next level which can take a team a long way.” Coastal Carolina will face North Carolina, ranked number-one in the poll, Feb. 24 in Chapel Hill, N.C.
The Chants earned 428 points to finish 28th in the Collegiate Baseball News poll. Coastal Carolina will face three teams in the top-40 poll, including #19 Kentucky in the season-opening Caravelle Resort Tournament in Conway, S.C.
Last year, we finished as #16, which isn't bad. CCU has a good team and I look forward to them coming to Charleston to play CofC and El Cid.
