Do not stand at Browns games

For all I know this type of rule is common but it's stupid. I would be kicked out by the second 1st down each Griz game.

One Cleveland Browns fan had to learn the hard way that fans also can be penalized for excessive celebration.
Rob Stipe, a 35-year-old season-ticket holder in the Browns' famous Dawg Pound, told The Elyria Chronicle-Telegram that he was removed from the stadium during Sunday's comeback victory over the Miami Dolphins for "excessive standing."
Stipe said a stadium employee asked him to leave during the third quarter for standing during a television timeout. Stipe stood during the first quarter and received a warning.
Team employees told Stipe that a policy had been enacted to remove anyone who stood after receiving a warning. Fans may only stand during third and fourth downs and during game stoppages, the team's head of security informed Stipe last year

Pro games are a different crowd & a different atmosphere from college games.
Doesn't surprise me & Cleveland has one of the more rabid fanbases in the NTFL.

I wish they would enact this at NASCAR races. I figure I'll be standing for at least 50 laps this Sunday at Dover.
It's custom to stand for the start, every restart, and the finish and people also jump up when there's a crash. It's probably the dumbest shit I've ever seen. 100,000 people sitting can see just as well as 100,000 standing. I'd have no problem with people standing for the start and the finish and then just sitting the fuck back down, but no. They stand for the start and then don't sit back down for five laps. Repeat for every restart (which can be ten or more sometimes) GRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

I was talking about this with someone yesterday and we both agreed that there is a good chance that the whole story is not out there. Browns won't win by turning this into a he said she said thing so they are staying out of it I am guessing.

wouldn't a television timeout consitute a "game stoppage"?
