Are there any Rangers fans on CS.com?

Somewhere in the Great Beyond, my late father -- a young Tigers fan in the era of Greenberg, Gehringer, Cochrane and Rowe -- is getting a kick out of these playoffs! :)

No. The SHSU and Texas State fans have all left and there were no Nicholls fans to begin with. :ohno:

The Tigers already did the job of beating the Yankees :thumb: That's all I really care about. But I want the Central to do well so GO TIGERS!

I fuckin' HATE the Rangers. Have to go with Detroit. After all, the Lions beat the plowboys, then the Tigers took out the yankees. I have to go with them for sentimental reasons.

Um...not all the TXST fans have gone...thank you very much

Congrats to Texas on a well pitched game one. Verlander never got the curve working and Texas made him pay when he went with fastballs. Hopefully Scherzer can even things up tonight.

Wilson did a great job.

Just wish the games could end earlier in the evening.

Ordonez out for the season with a broken ankle. Young out for the ALCS with a strained oblique. Getting a little thin in the outfield.

On the plus side, this gives Kelly and Dirks a great opportunity.

Not a fan of the AL in general (except for the '80s Oakland A's under Billy Martin). But I've always liked Nolan Ryan.

And I'll never forget THIS:

Update on the injury front. The Tigers activated Delmon Young to replace Ordonez. Hopefully he's recovered enough to be effective. :thumb:

Heading into the 11th inning tied at 3. Both teams had men on base with chances to win, but nobody has delivered.

Big dinger by Cruz, Rangers win.

Tough one to lose. But I have to give the Rangers credit, they made a couple of nice defensive plays late to keep the Tigers from taking the lead. And their relievers stepped up big after the starter got knocked around early.

There's one!

Came at a cost though, with Martinez getting hurt. Hopefully not that serious and he can continue to play. Porcello needs a good outing this afternoon.

Martinez ain't Joe Mauer, he'll play. :thumb:

Tough road ahead if the Tigers are to advance. If Verlander wins, they still have to win 2 in Texas.

Another tough loss. But if I was able to look at it impartially, I'd say it's been a great series so far.

Cruz has been a beast in this series.
