Report: Epstein Maybe Close To Agreeing To Join Cubs

Reports say Red Sox GM Theo Epstein is close to agreeing to become the next GM of the Chicago Cubs. If reports are accurate, the Cubs would then need to come up with compensation that Boston would take to let Epstein out of his contract.
Sources in Boston say the Red Sox have not given up on a new deal for Epstein that would extend beyond his current deal and offer more than he has now... Possible scenarios could see Epstein bumped to either Co- or sole President of the team depending on what could happen with Larry Lucchino, perhaps dropping him as President and leaving him just his CEO title or perhaps bumping him up to co-chairman with Tom Werner. Another possibility is offering Epstein an ownership stake in Fenway Sports Group.
