Garcia v. Lewis
Is there any magic left in the Cardinals?
Down 10.5 with 31 games to go
Down 8.5 entering September
Down 2 with 3 to go.
Now down 1 with 2 to go.
Interesting thought...
It is suppose to rain the next 2 nights in STL...Can it rain enough to get Carpenter back into the thick of things?

Eh. I generally dislike all things Texas, but I'd be okay with them winning their first. AL West represent.

So glad that I don't have a rooting interest in this game and can sit back and enjoy it. Can't imagine being a Cardinals or Rangers fan tonight.

This. Props to the Cardinals for refusing to die. Very impressive.
I turned on the game in the ninth to see a celebration and got three great innings (so far) of baseball, the first of the Series I've watched.

Was there really any doubt?
Down 7 to 5, and down to their last strike, the Cardinals tie it in the bottom of the 9th
Down 9 to 7, and down to their last strike again, the Cardinals tie it in the bottom of the 10th
Tied 9 to 9, David Freese ends it on with a homerun to center.
Game 7. Game, freaking, 7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

91, 01, 11... something about these years...
classic - and with Chris Carpenter on the mound tomorrow night... this feels like 91... something amazing almost has to happen tomorrow night.

We're messin' with Texas. I wish I had Nolan Ryan's cowboy boots so that I could take a big fat dump in them.

Curious to know what is going through the head of a fellow Cardinals fan's head right now...
Honestly, I am speechless and shocked. Should I be considering what this team has done the past 2 months? Probably not, but this took it all to a whole new level.

seems a lot of people are hacked off at Joe Buck for reprising his fathers "and we'll see you tomorrow night!" call from 20 years ago...
I don't quite understand it - I thought it was a nice homage to his father and his immortal call...
(keep in mind I LOATHE Joe Buck and his Jim-Nance-on-Qualludes enthusiasm)

"We'll see you tomorrow night" is Joe Buck's call. It was from the Jim Edmonds' homerun in 2004 in the bottom of the 12th
I guess his father could have used before that as well but I know he has used it before, if he didn't come up with it

So, his dad used it first, but it's somehow Joe's call?

was working all night, so wasn't able to watch the game, and the only part I was able to listen to on the radio (while driving between jobs) was where the Rangers walked a guy with bases loaded to tie it up 4-4.
And then the Cardinal baserunner at third gets picked off. How the FUCK do you get picked off at third in the World Series when you're the go-ahead run? I can see taking big leads off of first or second, so that you can leg it out if a single is hit or something, but when you're at third, you're going to be able to score fairly easily on any sort of hit.
Of course, it sounds like this game was filled with all sorts of craziness anyway.
