THE Battling Bishops of Bishop England High School played Central HS last night for the state title. We won, 10-0. This is the first ever state title for BEHS. It's amazing b/c up until 2008 (the new coach, son of the famed, former coach) the Bishops weren't that great. Just a bunch of skinny white kids playing ball. But this year, we killed it, overall 13-1 record, Division and State Champions!! I don't get into high school ball, but It's a proud day for us Bishops.
It was a night of milestones for the Bishop England Battling Bishops.

The Bishops won the Division II-AA state championship with a 10-0 victory over Central on Friday night in front of about 4,000 fans at Benedict College’s Charlie W. Johnson Stadium.

It was the football program’s 400th victory since the school first fielded a team in 1944. It was the football program’s first state championship, and the school’s 100th state title overall.

Congrats! My alma mater won its first ever state championship in football in 2008. It really pulled the little town together. Our school had been historically dreadful and looks to be headed back that way, but they had a few really good years and it was special.
