Proving it over and over that they are the worst in all the land.
Beat up a Iraq war vet and retired police officer.
There wasn't a fight in the 2012 NHL Winter Classic at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia; and even though there were over 45,000 New York and Philadelphia sports fans crammed into the stadium for a rivalry game, there were no significant incidents in the stands, either.
But at 7:15 p.m. at the iconic Geno's Steaks located at 1200 South 9th St., violence broke out between hockey fans. Three unknown males wearing Philadelphia Flyers jerseys paid a homeless man to spray two New York Rangers fans with some kind of cleaning substance, according to MyFoxPhilly.com. After an altercation, they then began sucker-punching them and pummeling them as they lay on the ground.
According to NBC's New York affiliate, one of the injured Rangers fans was an off-duty New Jersey police officer and former Marine who was awarded a Purple Heart in Iraq.

No excuse, but don't pretend this is limited to Philly fans. Give me a fucking break.

Not limited to, but they excell at it more than other cities.

Eh, Los Angeles has us beat by a mile - the guy they beat up 9 months ago is still in the hospital - this guy got cleared in a day.
And we never stopped a baseball game by throwing trash on the field like those hooligans in Phoenix. And I don't recall us being like the yahoos in Cleveland and pelting the officials leaving a football game with plastic beer bottles and having the team owner then talk about how proud he was of our devotion to the team, and so on and so on. I'd have a list of offenses by unruly fans in Baltimore, but we need to wait for the Orioles to become relevant again and fans start showing up again for that to happen. No one gets into fights with empty seats.

I already posted the actual video of this in the Winter Classic thread: (scroll down to the video link)
The fact of the story is this war vet & Woodbridge , NJ cop was at Geno's after the game running his mouth about a Rangers victory and abso-lutely got tuned up. Watch the knockout blow around the 0:34 second mark of the clip.
If the Philly fan doesn't win this fight then it's never news, because nothing EVER happens bad in the world of sports outside of Philly
Pretty sad statement on our military & law enforcement brethren watching this dude get pummeled. That's how we roll Andy, that's how we roll. By the way, June 8-10 you should plan a vacation when the Phillies & their fans invade Camden Yards for a weekend series....

Somebody send that tape to Coach K. The dude that barely took a punch to start flopped so quick I'm embarassed to say I root for the Ravens. 89 is right, Baltimore fans can hit just as bad as their baseball team....

C: You're a bunch of mean-spirited thugs. Griz fans probably consume more alcohol per capita than any other sports fans, and we treat visiting fans like the honored guests they are.

Clearly they were pretty fucking stupid, to drag the name of Philly sports fans through the mud for the millionth time
Weber fans always mouth off to me (and others) at their games. I guess next time I'll just start throwing haymakers and dousing them in bear spray

After that post, a Philadelphia man named Edward Neary posted on the Broad Street Hockey Facebook page that "it was me and my friends … do somethin' about it u fagits (sic)." After a back-and-forth with readers, he backtracked from his initial boast.

How can you not? A misremembered day in 1968 is what Philly haters hang their hats on.
