The Gators received 48 first-place votes and 1,606 points in the poll released early Friday, after they beat Oklahoma 24-14 in the BCS national title game.

Utah, the only team in major college football to go undefeated this season, got 16 first-place votes and 1,519 points.

Much like the Sugar Bowl, Utah would have beaten the Florida team that showed up last night.

Utah ROLLS Texas. Utah/USC and Utah Florida would be good games. Unfortunately, we'll never get to see them.

Cannot belive the AP actually gave Utah the number 2.

Good to see they got #2 didn't expect them to beat USC. Should be #1 though.

Still sucks and still means nothing when a 13 - 0 team is ranked below a 13 - 1 team that didn't impress me. No matter the NCAA does not recognize a Div I champion, let alone a BCS champion. It's all $$ and hype.
