More than two dozen fans gathered outside the Dolphins' complex Tuesday to protest the way the team is being run, and the spectacle prompted general manager Jeff Ireland to act.

More than two dozen fans gathered at team headquarters to vent. Several wore bags over their heads, and others held signs that read "FIRELAND."

Ireland asked fans for patience and said his moves shouldn't be judged until the offseason is over.

They tried (and failed) to get both Manning and Smith. Settled for Garrard. Unless they think they have the juice to trade for Tebow (I'm not sure they have the cajones to do it even if they have the resources), they'd be better off with Don Strock....

Why not bring back Steve DeBerg, or Scott Mitchell.

DeBerg wouldn't work. He was KC/Tampa's boy.

Mitchell was the original trade bait bonus baby who never panned out. I'm not sure Miami fans would like the idea of HIS return. Strock would have more success with the fans, as would David Woodley, who at least made the playoffs a time or two before losing his job to Marino.

Miami had DeBerg in 1993 when Marino went down with his achilies. Strock would have more success than Woodley since Woodley died in 2003. Mitchell had little success in Detroit even with Barry Sanders. There is always Ray Lucus, Brian Griese, and Bernie Kosar.

I think the fans would rather have Bob....
