So who wins? Tiger or The Field?

Don't know but it's good to have the question back to "Tiger or the field!"

I'd put my money on Tiger right now.....provided he doesn't leave his cell phone laying around anywhere!

He's playing better but you still gotta bet the field. Too many good young players and the fear factor is gone.

If you take Rory or Luke Donaldson out of the field I'd take Tiger...he is back up to 7th in the world.

1 Luke Donald, Eng
2 Rory McIlroy, Nir
3 Lee Westwood, Eng
4 Hunter Mahan, USA
5 Steve Stricker, USA
6 Martin Kaymer, Deu
7 Tiger Woods, USA
8 Charl Schwartzel, Zaf
9 Justin Rose, Eng
10 Webb Simpson, USA

The fear factor may be diminished, but that was with Tiger going through knee and Achilles surgeries like Cap'n goes through porn videos and cakes. However, Tiger is playing better and while he still has some knee issues they have been mostly corrected.

A healthy Tiger making a charge, especially with his recent motivation thanks to Hank Haney, is still something to think about.

The only prediction I'll make is that next Sunday's paper will have the caption "Tiger in the Hunt" with a picture of him whether he's in the lead or 15 shots back. I can appreciate what the guy has done to elevate the game, but there are a lot of good players out there who never get their moment in the spotlight when Tiger's playing.

So the guy wins for the first time in THIRTY MONTHS and ya'll are ready to crown him king again?

I'll take McElroy, Donald, Mahan, Mickelson.

No shit. If Tiger makes ANY cut, the headline usually reads "XXXXXX leads ________ Open. Tiger lurking 12 shots back"

If I could only put my money on one guy, it has to be Rory right now. He's only finished out of the top 10 once in his last 12 tourneys and that was a tie for 11th place. Still wouldn't take him or anyone over the field but he would be by far the closest.

Tiger needs to show me he can do it for 4 rounds in more than 1 tourney before I put him back at that level though he is playing a lot better now.

If this was any other major, then I could see your point.

But Tiger hasn't finished outside the top 10 at the Masters since 2004. He always performs well there. He may not win it, but you can sure bet he'll be in contention come Sunday afternoon.

He also hasn't won a major in 4 years and just won his first tour event in 2 1/2 years. I'll take the field, TYVM.

Don't "hate" him, per se. Just always been a Phil fan, and before that a Nicklaus fan. I don't want him to break Jack's record... :tothehand:

Admit it. He's unappreciative of his own flavor. :coffee:

Hey, I'd rank Elin above most of his flavor as well... :coffee:

Now, as for some of that OTHER skank he was tapping.... :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

I'm betting on Bradley. I think Woods will be up there though.

What makes me think Tiger is actually "more than just back" is that he leads the PGA in total "driving" which he's never done before. Used to be the only way to beat Tiger was to hope he uses his driver a lot.

Now, his putting is coming around so if that gets back to form.......look out!
