Greenville Drive has a 7 day home stand with the Lakewood, NJ Blue Claws followed up with a series vs. the Hickory Crawdads. I'll try to catch a game or two. :thumb:

OK...just to be clear everyone, it's baseball opening day, NOT SOCCER!! Almost 2 hours into the season & not a single run has crossed the plate anywhere.

I'm sure this post will start an avalanche of runs now. :thumb:

And lo & behold. The least likely team of all crosses the plate first - the Mutts!

What was up with Oakland and several other teams starting early and then going back to pre-season? That doesn't make much sense.

Isn't a Mariners-A's matchup basically like a spring game?

How in the hell do you lose to the Mets? I'm not a huge baseball fan, but i've always been a fan of the Braves. Here's another season where we will mutter the UnOfficial Slogna, "Close, yet so Far".

Thank you!!!!!

(I freaking HATE the Giants. I'm sick of Bochyball, sit and wait for the jack. Give me Billy Ball any day of the week. I'll sign Rickey Henderson as my leadoff hitter right freaking now and watch him get 100 stolen bases. Man, I miss baseball like that.)

Oh, speaking of Billy Martin...I was at our rivalry game tonight, Lodi vs. Tokay. Lodi broke it open with a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh despite struggling with horrible umpiring at the plate. They tacked on one more to make it 7-3. In the bottom of the 7th, Tokay DID get one back, but apparently THEY had to deal with some foul officiating as well as one of their coaches (not sure if he was the manager or not) managed to get himself tossed arguing balls and strikes. He then proceeded to get his money's worth by channeling his inner Billy Martin, kicking dirt on the plate. I've never seen anything like that short of any level of pro ball. The whole place was cracking up.
