Matt Cain threw the 22nd perfect game in MLB history tonight, beating the Houston Astros 10-0. His 125 pitches are apparently the most ever in a perfect game.
I hate the Giants with a passion, but these gems are few and far between, so he deserves all the acolades this deserves. FWIW, I wonder when the last time we had TWO in the same season, much less (what is it now?) FOUR total no-nos?
In an era where the solo jack is so "important" (yeah, right!) and SIX innings is a "quality start" (bullcr@p in MY book), these things become even MORE amazing....
