Damian Lillard

Damian Lilliard had an outstanding (by most reports) NBA camp in Chicago and then sources say that he dazzled the Blazers in Portland on Thursday. Blazers do need a point guard and mock drafts out there have them taking Lillard at #6. My uneducated opinion, I was not impressed with his play this year and felt that he was outplayed in the championship game against Montana. Yet, most who have seen him lately across the NBA think very highly of him. Here is a link from Oregon Live about his Portland workout...

Last year we had a shot at Morehead State's Faried, but took Nolan Smith instead. Any thoughts on Lillard?

Jalmond I believe this guy is the second coming of ex-Piston Lindsey Hunter from Jackson St. both came from small schools and had scorers mentality as a calling card into the NBA.He averaged 24.5 ppg as a senior and Hunter used a 26.7 scoring avg as a way into the Piston organization with a strong recommendation from the man he replaced Isiah Thomas.NBA scouts said he was the "Isiah Thomas" of the 90s.

NBA scouts have stopped short of calling Lillard the next Derrick Rose, only saying that Lillard is "similar" to Rose. Others have compared him to Rodney Stuckey, who also came from the Big Sky (EWU). He has a good pedigree coming from Oakland where both Jason Kidd and Gary Payton came from, although Kidd and Payton both came from the Pac-12 (Pac-10 back then). I think, if the Blazers take him at #6, he better be at least better than Stuckey.

I heard the comparisons between him and Stuckey ,but you are the first person that, mentioned him in the ,same breath with Rose and that is a super high compliment ,to say the least and your right if the Blazers take him ,at #6 he has to be ,superior to Stuckey no doubt!!!And so far Stuckey has not made any type ,of impact team or league wide that I know of!!! I personally think this guy will ,do it he plays with a chip on his shoulder because of ,aforementioned small school background a la Stuckey.
