Baseball Pioneer Dies

Post by SuperHornet »

Baseball pioneer Doris Sams has died at age 85. She threw a perfect game while playing in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, claiming to have been hit hard, only to be saved by the incredible glovework of her teammates. This league was the subject of the hit movie A League of Their Own, starring Geena Davis, Rosie O'Donnell, and Madonna. R.I.P., Doris. You are a true sports hero.
