Three straight NFC Championship games as a starter, two screwed up by the defense, and one by the OL. One of the best punters in the game at the time, barring the immortal Ray Guy. A Super Bowl ring. And he played MUCH more than three full seasons, Andy....

Translation: No WONDER Tony Romo is so popular in Dallas...he's just like Danny White.

Um, Romo doesn't HAVE a Super Bowl ring, AZ.

I'm surprised you're not defending one of the most popular guys to ever come out of the State of Arizona. He took an expansion franchise and took it to several championship games in PHX. Plus, he's a HOFer because of that.

:ohno:

Sure - Danny did nothing wrong in those losses - he choked.

And who cares about being the best punter - which he is not even close to being. There are dozens of better punters than he was. Hell, even in his best years as a punter he wasn't a top 5 punter in any single year. - he should have worked harder on being a better QB - maybe they would have won something.

Neither does White as a QB. Lots of people of Super Bowl rings. Doesn't mean they are good players, just lucky.

HOF because of Arena League?

OK Gil. You're right. I won't point out the super bowl/championship rings or pro bowl season shared by Unitas, Staubach and Bradshaw. I'll just leave you out there equating the three of them with White.

Nor am I. However, I was speaking in generalities about Unitas. Ive read many articles that state why he wad overrated even for his era

White has more Super Bowl Rings than Dan Marino and Fran Tarkenton combined.
