NEW YORK (AP) — The owner of I'll Have Another says he sold his Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner to a farm in Japan for $10 million, a price that far exceeded any amount he was offered in the United States.

J. Paul Reddam made his comments in a blog appearing on the bloodhorse.com website. He writes there were two offers from U.S. breeding operations, one valued at just under $5 million, the other at $3 million.

No. WW II era people (Americans) made it offensive in propaganda. Much of it was aimed at Americans of Japanese descent.

My grandfather, who was an infantryman for the duration of the war in the Pacific, never stopped referring to them as Japs or Nips. If you had told him his language was offensive, he'd have knocked your teeth out.

Is the term Kraut racist? It was used in the same format during WWII as the term Japs, neither refers to a race of people, but refers to a specific nation. Growing up on the Canadian border, I got called a Yankee all the time and we called the Canadian, Canucks. Where does race come in to play?

OH, one more thing. How do we know that the buyers are NOT in fact Japs?

If jap, nip and kraut are offensive then why is yankee, Hick, Hillbilly, Yokel, redneck, honkey, cracka and whitey acceptable? I think they are all stupid names. Our society is too sensitive. Jap, Nip and Kraut were used in manners to offend or be offensive to the enemy, just like Arab, dune coon, sand nigger, towelhead, camel fucker, etc... They are products of their time.
