Re: It's Almost Time!
I only WISH it were video. It's audio only, and the PxP guy is atrocious. He's not prepared, doesn't know the names, and is slow to identify the action.
Wisconsin got first blood with a red zone touchdown, but their 2-pt conversion failed. The Sirens quickly struck back with a 50-yard run, but the idiot PxP guy failed to identify WHO broke free. The PAT was good, so the Sirens now lead 7-6 at SOME point in the first quarter. (Yes, the PxP guy is failing to specify the clock as well.)

Re: It's Almost Time!
It's halftime. The Sirens have dominated, but gave up a TD as time expired in the first half, probably getting caught in a prevent defense as often happens.
RB Julie Shockley has scored two TDs for the Sirens, and FB Kristy Milanese one. We still don't know who got the first one.
Sirens up 26-12 at the half. Now if only they can stay out of the prevent defense, perhaps they can put Wisconsin away.

Re: It's Almost Time!
Wisconsin tried to pull the same stunt New Orleans did in the Super Bowl, using an onside kick to open the second half. Unfortunately for the Warriors, the result wasn't as good for them as it was for the Saints. The Sirens recovered on their own 44, and proceeded to march down the field, culminating in a Rachel Lloyd 8 yard run for the touchdown. The PAT was called back on a WIS facemask, half the distance to the goal, prompting the Sirens to attempt a failed two-point conversion.
The score is now Sirens 32, Warriors 12 in the third quarter. Things are not looking good for an undefeated team at home....

Shockley trots in with her THIRD touchdown of the day from 21 yards out to put the Sirens up 39-12 with 8 min left in the game.

The Sirens are running away with this thing. FB Kristy Milanese with her SECOND scoring run of the day (from two yards out) puts the Sirens up 45-12 with about 3 minutes left in the game.

Re: It's Almost Time!
It's over! The Sacramento Sirens have handed the Wisconsin Warriors their first loss, 45-12, on a 90+ degree day near Milwaukee. The Warriors' amazing season thus comes to a close.
The Eastern Conference Championship game (which I won't hear) between the 8-0 Houston Energy @ the 9-0 Montreal Blitz kicks off in about ten minutes. The Eastern Conference Tier II game (7-2 New England Intensity @ 8-1 Carolina Phoenix) also starts at 4 PT. The Western Conference Tier II game (4-5 Portland Shockwave @ 7-2 Madison Cougars) starts at 5 PT.

Re: It's Almost Time!
What is with all of these tiers? Are some teams so much more dykey that the bottom tier teams can't even compete with them?

Re: It's Almost Time!
It's dumb. At first, they actually separated them like they do in soccer. But they figured out that that wouldn't work, so they call the second place teams (there was one third place team this year because a second place team was too beat up to continue) Tier II and give them separate playoffs as opposed to taking the top two second place teams in the regular playoffs. The league thinks this will reduce travel costs, but I'm not convinced. It does allow them to stage TWO title games and an all-star game on the same weekend at IWFL HQ.
If it means anything to you, the WFA (the other "major" women's league) will stage their title game at Heinz Field. We'll see how that goes.

Re: It's Almost Time!
There was a major lightning delay in Carolina, but that has ended. Carolina leads New England 7-0 in 4Q now.
In a major surprise, 4-5 Portland is opening up a can of whoop-@$$ in Madison against the 7-2 Cougars. A 70-yard punt return and a couple of other scores have made it 25-6 in 4Q.
No updates from Montreal since they went into the half.

Portland is really pouring it on now. A 65-yard run just made it 43-6 in their favor, on the road against 7-2 Madison. I don't think ANYONE expected THIS.
The Eastern games have not updated in awhile. New England at Carolina had a long lightning delay, but that ended, and they went into 4Q with Carolina up 7-0. Houston was up 8-7 at the half in Montreal.

Re: It's Almost Time!
Just got the Eastern updates; they're both final.
Montreal (10-0) beat Houston (8-1) 28-16.
Carolina (9-1) beat New England (7-3) 7-0.
The Tier II Western Conference Championship just went final as well. Portland (5-5) 43, Madison (7-3) 6.
This sets up the title games at Round Rock, TX, in two weeks:
World Championship (Tier I): Sacramento Sirens (9-1) vs. Montreal Blitz (10-0)
Founder's Cup (Tier II): Portland Shockwave (5-5) vs. Carolina Phoenix (9-1)

Actually, I didn't even know anything about it.
Let's go, Portland!

93 makes the usual globalized assumptions.

Most of the teams have girls who are married to guys or are single and dating guys. Since when was there a law that said that ALL female athletes had to be lesbian?!? Sheesh!

Not a law, necessarily, I'd say more of a guideline.SuperHornet wrote:93 makes the usual globalized assumptions.

You're right. They don't have to all be lesbians. Only the winning team.SuperHornet wrote:93 makes the usual globalized assumptions.

I was just mentioning my fondness for dykes. I wasn't inferring or insinuating anything about the excellent players in this high caliber football league you love so much and paint your face for and whatnot.
Just yanking your chain a bit. Not everyone likes the same stuff.
