Big series starting tonight in DC you rednecks. Right now the Nats lead the Braves by 5 games. After the series the lead could be 2, 4, 6 or 8. Pitching match-ups are pretty even:
Monday
SP: Hudson (12-4)
SP: Zimmermann (9-7)
Tuesday
ATL: Maholm (11-7)
WSH: Strasburg (14-5)
Wednesday
ATL: Medlen (4-1)
WSH: Detwiler (7-5)

What are the options if there's a rainout? Accuweather says it's gonna rain...

If less than 25,000 show up, does it still count?

Not sure which is worse, interjecting attendance or grammar.

Sheet, 21,298, the kin folk in the Beltway must have been worried about the legitimate rapes in the Metro tunnels. 50.8% of capacity, even a Wizards game gets mo than dat. Congrats on the Nats winning but to steal from ESPN's segment, "cmon man"!

Um, have you actually been to a Wizards game not featuring LeBron or Kobe? The Phone Booth turns into an echo chamber...

People should be glad they didn't go. Metro effed up and closed before the end of the game leaving a bunch of people stranded in Anacostia.

Not exactly sure how ESPN (or is it MLB) comes up with the odds for making the playoffs.
Baltimore - 20.9%
Oakland - 50.7%
Both are 6 games back of their respective division leaders and the O's are 0.5 game up on the A's for the second wild card.

and
I wonder if the cabbies pay a kickback to the Metro administration when they do that?

Sounds like it was the Nats and Metro. No contract in place to stay open later. Caps playoff games there is a contract. I was at the triple OT game against the Rangers this year and Metro stayed open. I'd much rather be stranded in Chinatown than Anacostia.

In all honesty, I've walked 15-20 minutes to the park in DC, the surrounding neighborhoods ain't Georgetown but they're not that bad. You guys need to get out more if you're scared off by that.

There's not a place in DC I'd like to walk at 1am.

Maybe SOS remaining fits in there? Just guessing.

That would be my guess, but neither has it really easy. Game remaining vs playoff contenders...
Oakland
Angels - 7
Rangers - 7
Yankees - 3
Tigers - 3
Orioles
Yankees - 7
Rays - 6
White Sox - 3
Plus they play each other 3 times in Oakland. Seems like Baltimore has the slightly easier remaining schedule.

Little exaggeration there. Almost any place in Northwest is fine at 1:00 am.

Mine was an exaggeration, but so is your's. NW is a big quadrant and I wouldn't want to be hanging around at 1am in a majority of it.

I was partying in DuPont until last call on a Fri night/Sat am a couple of weeks ago. Place was a madhouse at 3am. No reason not to feel safe there.
But yeah, I wouldn't want to venture too far off, especially to the east of there.

Seriously? With the exception of the Northeastern part of the quadrant, I would consider Northwest very safe. You have all of just to name a few areas, Georgetown, American, GW, White House, Chinatown, Dupont, Adams Morgan, Woodley Park, Cleveland Park, Chevy Chase areas, and U Street (around the bars obviously). Rock Creek Park is good too but not sure why you'd hang out there at 1 am. Sure the rest East of there is probably not great but I mentioned the majority of the areas above in Northwest.
and 93henfan set you up too easily.

Candy azzes. The worst part in DC is better than the best part in Atlanta. A broke city.
