Philly Fans Laugh at America

Thank you Atlanta & Kansas City for this weekend's entertainment.

First, the city of Atlanta ACTUALLY GETS FANS TO SHOW UP, and they turn the 8th inning into a minor-league hockey game by tossing beer bottles & the like all over the field over the infield fly rule. Great job guys - go back to NASCAR & leave professional sports to the big boys.

And then to America's heartland - Matt Cassel lays on the turf holding his head after getting pounded by the Ravens & the red-clad crowd starts to cheer, mind you much louder than Philly ever did with Michael Irvin & this guy is on your own team.

There are bad fans everywhere people just helping you recognize them since you have issues with that. :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

What was so terrible about cheering Michael Irvin looking like road kill on the turf??
He played for a hated divisional rival.
He is a loud mouth POS off the field.
He got away with push-offs on the field.
F Michael Irvin.

Oh believe me I share the same sentiment on Irvin. No argument from me - but Joe Fan still talks down Philly fans on that one.

It was the days before youtube but I can still remember the days where we brought life size mannequins to the tailgates at the Vet, dressed it in cowboys gear with a Michael Irvin jersey and stuffed a tube up it's nose with a "bag of crack" connected to it. Before heading into the game they'd toss the Irvin mannequin in the middle of the parking aisle, douse it with lighter fluid & watch him burn, surrounded by countless fans cheering "Dallas Sucks". Ah, I miss the good ole days....

Philly pioneered having a jail in a football stadium, so you've got that going for you. At least Atlanta fans weren't throwing D cells at the players. :coffee:

I didn't catch that score vs. the Steelers....did you get it? ;)

Nope, they just threw them at the umps & then their own grounds crew. :coffee: :coffee: :tothehand: :tothehand:

You shouldn't be. When you are unfairly criticized for doing the same thing every one else is doing; of course you are going to point that out.

A lot of ATL's growth is due to northeastern transplants, so I'm not really surprised.

Nope, I'm not one of those guys and I have no love for Atlanta. I'm simply saying the demographics in this area are certainly far from purely "born in the South." I think some of my NC/SC brethren would agree on that.

Yep. This. If we don't have to continually educate the stupid masses they'd think we were the only ones doing this....

ESPN has done little to change the stereotype of the Philly Phan over the years. I just hope they never do a story on Lakes Bison or JBB.

The media is lazy. The perception is that Philly fans are the most unruly fans, the media is happy to run with that, rather portray Philly fans in the right light.

I've mentioned it before, but the current Philly stadium experience is 180 degrees different than it was 15 years ago. Now that the whole stadium at Eagles games (other than SRO) is season tickets, the act-up-and-lose-your-season-tickets policy keeps people from doing the stupid shit they used to do.

That and the fact that a 12 oz beer is $8.

Truth is, many Eagles fans are too smart to buy beer in the stadium. The tailgates start at ungodly hours for a pro game, the drinking pace is tops in the league and many of us have mastered the art of sneaking a couple extra past security into the game.

But you are right, since moving to the Linc the atmosphere isn't quite the same. But enough about us, where are all the Chiefs fans, oops, 1-4 doesn't get you many fans....

Washington sports fans have only had baseball what, less than a decade? But they sure have perfected the art of sending death threats to their closer:

And in San Francisco on Sunday:

A warm welcome to No Cal
