Why? Jeter still has some play left in him. I wouldn't mind seeing A-Roid retire though.

Some ppl think Jeter has dipped into A-Roid's locker for a pick-me-up every now and then considering how he is climbing the ladder for all-time hits!!!!

Skip Bayless from ESPN made this accusation after Jeter joined the 3k hit club and it was said that he is well ahead of the pace of Pete Rose.

Like I said, some ppl can be idiots, and Skip Bayless is their king. I wish that he would retire.

Agreed but he got the attention of Jeter after he made the accusation.

As an old, literally an figuratively, Red Sox and Dodgers fan I can only say GO TIGERS. A pox on the Yankees, now and forever, until the end of time. Poor Yankees, my rosey rear end!!!!!!

What's up with all the empty seats at Yankee Stadium? That's 3 playoff games in a row now with LOTS of empties. And I'm not talking about the overpriced premium seats by the field as well that have never been more than half full since they opened the place. Plenty of lower level seats going empty & upper-level sections half full? Seriously, how can the Yankees have postseason attendance issues? I've bought individual game tickets before so I keep getting all kinds of e-mails saying there are seats available...

Game 1 was expected. You cannot get anywhere at 5pm in NYC especially on a Friday.

Game 2 should have been full. No clue why it wasn't. You'll never see the same atmosphere as you used to have at the old Yankee stadium. The tickets are too expensive all the way around. Bleachers are the cheapest seats and always sell out. Those are $50 minimum for ALCS. Main level seating (2nd deck) starts at $111 per ticket.

That was early in the season, Verlander is traditionally a slow starter, just like his in-game performance. The former ODU pitcher is in a groove.

What's with all this crying about the umps? Girardi needs to take lessons from Green Bay Mike McCarthy on taking a loss like a man.

Uh, game 1 was on Saturday. Are you saying the traffic was still so bad from Friday that you couldn't get to the game a full day later? I've been to Yankee games before and yeah, the traffic's not great, but you can certainly get there on time.

Sorry - getting all these extra inning games confused.

Game 5 of the ALDS was at 5pm and the traffic was ugly. Have you ever been to a 5pm Yankee game? There is a reason they don't usually play them.

Games 1 and 2 should have been sold out but I really think the prices are ridiculous. Even for the "cheap" seats.

Yankees are in elimination mode now, as former Twin Delmon Young continues to bomb the Bronx Bombers.

The Yankees have not lost a game when Sabathia was starting pitcher.
