Will a move make them more visible and popular in the NYC area and the NHL?

Being NY is not a hockey hotbed, I can see your view.

Yes, but they will still have to win. And if I'm them, I change logos and colors with the move. Their crappy blue/orange is not marketable.

 The Islanders have been dealing with this issue for a couple years. Nassau County voted down a new arena last year, so the timing of this is not related to the lockout.

BTW, my guess is they will go to the Nets new black/white unis. The arena is apparently decked out in black/white already.

Listening to Islander fans complain on the radio about traveling to Brooklyn.Ppl said that they wanted a new facility but didn't get it.

Better Brooklyn than Quebec City, Islanders fans.

It's going to be an awkward set-up for sure, but I didn't want to see the Islanders move out of the metro area.
