Nine games left in the Reid era. Please discuss potential replacements.

I'd love Chip Kelly myself...

I hadn't thought about a replacement yet, but Kelly might be a good choice.

It is time for Reid to go. He's a good coach and will get a job elsewhere, but I think he's run his course in Philly.

Maybe UD will pick him up after KC gets canned. 8-)

The TV guys yesterday were saying it's only a matter of time before a big name FBS school comes calling for Keeler.

I thought Keller had a lot of value after 2003. His record ot Rowan was great and then winning a title so soon after coming to Delaware. I don't think he is that sought after now, but I'm not ready to fire him yet either.

Keeler, Inc is a penny stock. That being said, if an FBS school wants him, I'd contribute to buying out his contract with us.

As far as the Iggles, gimme Chip Kelly or Bill Cowher.

So you'd rather get close than actually win Superbowls. Got it.

Agree - Cowher would be a horrendous selection. We don't want to wait another 10 years just to get to the Super Bowl and lose.

I like Chip Kelly as an idea. If you can't get him (and I can't see him leaving all that Nike money and the luxury of being loaded with talent every year), Kyle Shanahan would interest me (might be too young, though), as would Jay (not John) Gruden. Although, if you could get both Grudens together that could work too, although I think John's getting real settled into TV now and he might be too bombastic anymore to be an effective coach. Denver's off coordinator (Mike McCoy) wouldn't be bad either. If he could win with Tebow then he could work wonders here. You'd have to convince him to leave a team with Manning at the helm right now, though.

I'm just hoping the Eagles can do what they can to keep improving their draft pick for the upcoming year. To get a good OL you need to be in the top 10 of the draft, and preferably top 7 or so. I think with enough effort and dedication, we can lose enough games to get into that slot. Although we still have two games against the Cowboys left and we're bound to win at least one, if not sweep that crumbling team. Damn Romo. :ohno:

Please explain. His winning percentage is better than Reid's and he won a Superbowl, something the Eagles haven't managed to do under 11 different head coaches.

I guess I'll never understand you guys who are OK with not winning championships.

Cowher and Reid have very similiar numbers after their first 13 seasons. Reid 126-81-1, Cowher 130-77-1.
Cowher went 11-5 and won a SB in his 14th season with Pittsbugh.
So far Reid is 3-4 in his 14th season with the Eagles.

Cowher may be an improvement over Reid, but not by a lot.

A Superbowl Championship is a lot to me, but what do I know?

I agree, a SB would be nice. You ready to wait another 14 years for Cowher to win his second? It's not like the guy has a history of winning immediately. Prior to winning there were a lot of people in Pittsburgh that wanted Cowher fired.

I agree, I don't know why, after 14 years of not winning a SB with Andy Reid, why 93 wants to hire someone, and then wait patiently for another 14 years to see if Cowher can win his 2nd Super Bowl in that 14 year. I know 2026 should be a great year and all, but I'd like a shot at a parade sometime sooner than then.

Why does 93 not want to win now?

Andy Reid said today that the Eagles need to do a better job. He also said the loss was his responsibility.

At this point the losses are the responsibility of Jeff Lurie who continues to employ Reid.

Sounds like Reid is close to benching Vick. I wouldn't bench Vick, I'd call more running plays for him. He can bench himself when he gets hurt.

I want a guy who is capable of winning a Superbowl. I see that doesn't matter to you. You are the type of fan Lurie loves. Satisfied with good but not great.

In today's NFL, with all the parity, give me 14 years as head coach I might win a SB. I'm okay with getting rid of Reid, but I think you are overrating Cowher.

Interesting that you like Cowher so much for winning a SB, but you don't like Keeler.

Tubby's recruits + FBS transfers :coffee:

He'll miss the playoffs six of the past eight seasons with his own recruits.

Okay, but:

A. Tubby never won a I-AA/FCS title with his own recruits

B. Given a more competent crew of officials, Keeler might have beaten EWU, and that was with his recruits.

You want Cowher because he's proven that he can win a SB, but you don't want Keeler even though he's also proven that he can win a championship.

Tubby won several national titles and bowl games with his own recruits.

KC is 0-2 with his. :coffee:

Tubby couldn't get the job done in December at the 1-AA level.

Can you believe it just got released today the Eagles gave GM Howie Roseman a 4-5 year extension when Joe Banner quit? He still had a year or two left on his deal. How can pro sports owners be so friggin stu-pid??!!??
