The NFL is a joke....

How ludicrous is it that Frank Gore got fined more for allowing his socks to fall down than Tom Brady was for trying to kick Ed Reed in the nads?

I hate the 49ers with a passion, but even I have to recognize dumb when I see it.

Why is it that you can see this as obvious, but can't see that Kaepernick is better than Smith?? :ohno:

Because he's not.

But that's not really the point of that debate. The point is whether or not one should go against history to fire a guy who was having a career year. I'm sure Kaepernick would complain if it happened to him. There is no way Smith deserves to be the second coming of Wally Pipp. If Kaepernick were really that much better, he should have won the job fair and square during training camp. If that were the case, there would be no arguments. All precedent says that the starting quarterback does NOT lose his job due to injury; he loses it because he's screwing up. No objective metric shows Smith screwing up. They got lucky in the move working out. Harbaugh, by going against precedent in this malicious fashion, would be reviled around the league if it hadn't worked.

Didn't your boy Tony Romo get the job because Drew Bledsoe got hurt? :fuel:

Who said Romo was "my boy," RK? That's just blatant BS.

You're an idiot if you believe that, RK. Did you forget that ANYONE can rig that for anyone else on this site with a few bucks to lubricate the skids? I don't have the cache to fix that at the moment. But rest assured that I will after I get a few bills paid. Didn't TJ just slam me the other day for being one of the rare fans of the immortal Danny White? Didn't we just have a protracted discussion about whether White was better than Romo?

I guess you don't pay much attention when the topic at hand isn't the bogus elites of the world.

Brady got credit for missing the nads, Gore just almost made the whole television audience puke by baring his poop colored legs.

Yep, Gore deserved the higher fine, football is not a platform for gay and metro sexual apparel promotions.

Just to push the apparel envelope a bit, if an NBA player chose to wear the 1960s-style uniform shorts today, would he likewise be subject to a fine?

Assuming anyone on here really gives a shit about the NBA. 8-)
