In terms of receptions(743),yards (10,737)yes.Touchdowns no he has only 61 career tds.Next to Steve McNair he is probably the most important player to leave Alcorn St.Gil Dobie wrote:That would be great and he has the stats.dal4018 wrote:Hope he gets HOF consideration down the road.
I was shocked to see he averaged 50 receptions per year.....Gil Dobie wrote:That would be great and he has the stats.dal4018 wrote:Hope he gets HOF consideration down the road.
Pro Football Reference has Driver rated #38 all-time with #36 Drew Pearson, #37 Welker, #39 Charlie Joiner and #40 Tommy McDonald.clenz wrote:I was shocked to see he averaged 50 receptions per year.....Gil Dobie wrote: That would be great and he has the stats.
If that is the standard Muhsin Muhammad should be in the hall
Get back on the meds, pronto! He's still pretty much the best they have, and still a major threat short, middle, and deep.
I'm pretty sure he's not an NFL DB. Driver is not the best WR currently on the Packers team. If you believe that...of course you believe that.SuperHornet wrote:I'd like to see YOU cover him, 08.
That's not the point you fucking jackwagon.SuperHornet wrote:I'd like to see YOU cover him, 08.
In terms of td's yes but catches and yds sorry must go with Driver.SuperHornet wrote:I'll take Hutson over Driver. But that said, if Driver isn't in the HOF first time up, there will be something MAJORLY wrong with the system. Plus, the Packers are SCREWED if this retirement pans out. He's still pretty much the best they have, and still a major threat short, middle, and deep.
Clenz...no Greg Jennings?!?clenz wrote:That's not the point you **** jackwagon.SuperHornet wrote:I'd like to see YOU cover him, 08.
The fact he had EIGHT catches this past season...EIGHT. That put him TENTH on the team in receptions behind such super stars as Tom Crabtree, Cedric Benson, Alex Green, and John Kuhn. When you finish behing your teams second TE, fullback, 2nd and 3rd string RB who played in 66% less games than you during the season you are clearly no longer the best threat on the team at anything. He had 8 catches and Rodgers completed 371 passes....
If you've watched a Packer game (at all) in the last 2.5 to 3 seasons you'd notice that Finley, Cobb, James Jones, and Jordy Nelson are all a head on Driver as options.
I also submit that Eric Martin of the NO Saints, Tony Hill of the Cowboys, Ernest Givins of the Oilers, Anthony Miller of the Chargers/Broncos, Eddie Kinnison, Laveranues Coles, and Terry Glenn are all H.O.F. worthy as well....They all have very very catch, yardage, and td outputs per game as Driver....
Driver was a very very good WR, that may deserve the hall......it's too close to his career to really gauge it. It's the hall of fame though, not the hall of very good and dancing with the stars
Don Hutson was on many all-century teams and played half the number of games that Driver did, due to a 10, 11 and 12 game schedule in his day.dal4018 wrote:In terms of td's yes but catches and yds sorry must go with Driver.SuperHornet wrote:I'll take Hutson over Driver. The only player on my squad that I never saw play in the flesh was Don Hutson. So I spent two days in the Packers' film room. I'd never forgotten a story told to me by a Green Bay fan who swore he saw Hutson snatch a ball with one hand -- with the palm turned down. I never saw that play in the films, but what I did see was remarkable enough to make sure he got on this team. Hutson had speed and the same hunger for the long ball that Lance Alworth, my other deep receiver, had, plus the precision timing of my possession wideout, Raymond Berry, plus the toughness of my all-around performer, Jerry Rice. Dave Casper was a converted tackle who blocked like one. No tight end fought off as much traffic to catch the ball.
WIDE RECEIVER
Deep: Lance Alworth (Chargers, Cowboys) 1962-72
Deep: Don Hutson (Packers) 1935-45
Possession: Raymond Berry (Colts) 1955-67
All-around: Jerry Rice (49ers) 1985-present
TIGHT END
Dave Casper (Raiders, Oilers, Vikings) 1974-84
Yes I know about the exploits of the man known in athletic circles as the Alabama Antelope and his accomplishments and influence on today's game. But still can't deny what Driver did in his career.Gil Dobie wrote:Don Hutson was on many all-century teams and played half the number of games that Driver did, due to a 10, 11 and 12 game schedule in his day.dal4018 wrote:In terms of td's yes but catches and yds sorry must go with Driver.
