DSU's Lavan remembers Bill Walsh

Postby YoUDeeMan » Tue Jul 31, 2007 6:09 am

An NFL legend passes.

"Walsh died Monday at age 75 from leukemia."

"Lavan said one of his best memories of working with Walsh came before the NFL draft one year.

"I remember him saying, 'I don't care how a guy fits in another guy's system, how will he fit in ours? How does he fit in terms of our strength?' " Lavan said. "He found the right players to fit his system.

"The coaches worked hand-in-glove with the scouts," Lavan added. "He was able to avoid the fractures that happen in an organization. Sure, guys disagree. But with Bill, it was about the 49ers, nothing else. It was a positive aura because whatever he did, worked."

What if I have more personalities than that?
