Danica in NASCAR HOF!!!

No, she hasn't been inducted (yet), given that she's still driving. But the HOF has put in an exhibit honoring Danica's achievement in being the first woman to win a NASCAR pole.

She'll get inducted later, I'm sure....

Woo Hoo!!!

Shouldn't you have to win a few races to get into the HOF?

She's not the first woman in NASCAR. She's not the first woman to suck ass in NASCAR either.

What would warrant a HOF induction? The HOF is for great drivers.

By the way. Denny Hamlin, after missing over a month with a broken back, just moved back ahead of Danica in the point standings.

Please note the distinction, V. This is an exhibit, NOT an induction. You could say that Danica is incidental to the exhibit, which is technically commemorating the EVENT. ;-)

Nobody said Danica was the first woman in NASCAR. That's not what's being commemorated. She's the first woman to win a POLE. THAT's what's being commemorated, 93.

And "suck[ing] @$$" isn't too terribly accurate, either. Not many NASCAR drivers improve 10-15 spots from starting position week in and week out. She does.

Induction? Maybe in a couple of decades after she's had time to improve. If she hasn't bailed for F1 or back to IRL by that time. Certainly not now, though. But the EVENT of being the first woman to win a NASCAR pole is certainly worth an exhibit in the HOF, if not an outright induction....

You cannot be serious on the second part. If you are, you're just an idiot. No further comment.

Danica will be indicted before she's inducted. 8-) :twocents: Two-timing hussy.

Did they put the Danica exhibit next to the Willie T. Ribbs exhibit? :coffee:

Wait, you claimed back in Feb her winning the Daytona Pole was due to "skill", being an awesome driver, girl power and all.

Well, since Daytona she has qualified 40, 37, 41, 40, 32, 42, 25, 30, 23, 40.

So I guess her "skill" in the 9 races since Daytona has gotten her an avg starting position of 35th, races in top equipment no less.

Sounds like "sucking as*" is spot on.

Bullshit. Since Daytona qualifying, which is 99% car, she has continually qualified near the bottom in tracks that have actually required a modicum of skill in qualifying. She hasn't done it "week in and week out" as you claim. She has improved here standing 10+ spots LESS THAN 1/2 THE TIME, 5 of 11 races. And considering:
-she qualifies near the bottom week in and week out despite being in top equipment
-every race you have several start and parks
Sucking as* is pretty accurate.

Daytona: Started 1st, finished 8th, -7
Phoenix: Started 40th, finished 39th, +1
Las Vegas: Started 37th, finished 33rd, +4
Bristol: Started 41st, finished 28th, +13
Fontana: Started 40th, finished 26th, +14
Martinsville: Started 32nd, finished 12th, +20
Texas: Started 42, finished 28th, +14
Kansas City: Started 25th, finished 25th +/- 0
Richmond: Started 30th, finished 29, +1
Talladega: Started 23rd, finished 33rd, -10
Darlington: Started 40th, finished 28th, +12

That looks like an average increase of only 5 spots.

Also if you have to finish 10-15 spots higher than you starter and you still finish, on average, 27th....you really really suck

Daytona and Talladega are tracks where an average poster from this board could get in the car, practice a couple of hours to get used to the car, and then qualify for the pole ourselves. Those tracks are truly that easy to drive. Long turns, high banks. There's very little skill involved, unless you consider holding a pedal to the floor for two minutes a skill. The pole at the two superspeedways is usually determined by two things: horsepower and track conditions at the time of the qualifying run, with the latter often being the more important of the two. The only skill on a superspeedway comes when there are 42 other cars out there on the track with you.

To hang anyone's reputation on a pole on a superspeedway really shows your ignorance of the sport.

To be as kind as I possibly can be, Danica Patrick is (at best) a well below average NASCAR driver. She's driving great equipment, with gobs of sponsor money behind her, and is doing jack diddly squat with it. If she didn't have funbags and a split tail, GoDaddy would have no use for her and you'd have never heard of her. She is hogging a spot that a more deserving driver should be occupying.

Hall of Fame? Give me a fucking break.

Yeah, like Elliott Sadler.
-12 seasons in Sprint 99'-11'.
-Last year was 2nd in Nationwide (Patrick was 10th)
-Currently 3rd in Nationwide

Oh, and did I mention:
"......Sadler was a six-sport athlete in high school, participating in football, basketball, baseball, cross country, soccer, and golf. He was recruited by over 20 universities to play college basketball and ended up accepting a basketball scholarship from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. However, he injured his knee before his freshman season and needed two surgeries, eventually quitting school to focus on racing......."

You're full of it, JMU. Danica started at the back at Darlington because she had to go to a backup car, and she STILL improved a dozen spots.

You guys are freaking misogynistic bastards.

This has nothing to do with misogyny. You are claiming a lousy driver belongs in the HOF.

No. She's not good enough to be in the HOF. Neither is Elliott Sadler, Joe Ruttmann, Dick Trickle, Buddy Arrington, and I could list a hundred more if you'd like.

The HOF is for people like R Petty, Earnardt Sr, B Allison, D Waltrip, etc. Of the current drivers, J Gordon, J Johnson, Tony Stewart, etc. People who win consistently, with a championship or seven in their trophy case.

He'll, I'm a Dale Jr. fan. I don't consider him HOF worthy either, and he's about 500 times better than Danica Patrick.

Being honest about a woman being bad at something doesn't make you a misogynist. If she was a great driver we would all say as much. She sucks and you only like her because she is a woman. :coffee:
