Chargers FINALLY make a major move!

Fans of the San Diego Chargers have been fed up for quite some time with the quality of their team's play. They thought that might change with the coming of their new coach (Mike McCoy) and GM, but they've been disappointed in the caliber of players signed in free agency. Morning talk show host Lee "Hacksaw" Hamilton famously described the Chargers on the air as shopping at the 99 cent store.
This may be changing. In their first major free agent signing in years, San Diego just reeled in Indianapolis star DL Dwight Freeney. He may be on the backside of a stellar career, but he's still got a lot left, and he's likely upset at the way Colts stars have been treated ever since former quarterback Peyton Manning got hurt. Positioning could also be an issue, as he's a natural DE, but was moved to OLB late in his Colts career when they switched to a 3-4 defense, which the Chargers ALSO have.
One guy does not a team make. But this COULD be the first sign of a step in the right direction for a second-tier team with fans who want to get back to the big time.
