JFC, is there any reliable weather east of the continental divide? :coffee: When was the last time a US Open has been held on the west coast outside the state of California? EC(b)...:coffee:

That being said, Merion WAS the site where the Hawk hit his famous 1 iron...upstaging Jesus Christ. So I'm cool with it. :thumb:

I think Tiger will be sandwiched between the goofy mick and Mick.

BTW, I will continue to pick Westwood until he wins a major. :coffee:

Not at all. There's a certain kind of veteran player and game that has success at the US Open. Not flashy or long but consistent, minimizes mistakes, and putts it well. Stricker reminds me of those other three.

OK. But I believe that Stricker is far more relevant today than those other three.

1st delay of the day already. I work less than 10 minutes from Merion, it's mighty dark here right now - no rain though. Delay was for lightning apparently.

Of course he is. Andy North is a commentator and I'm not sure either of the other two are playing now. I was speaking historically of wily veterans who are good strategists, keep it in play, and putt well.

I thought you, being so ancient, might have appreciated the guys from "your" era. Sorry I complimented you on your pick. Geeesh!

Holy F! Major storm hitting area right now, thunder sounds like bombs exploding, no golf anytime soon, chances slim they take the course again today. Wow!

Wow, that's really going out on a limb. You just narrowed your pick to 155 guys.

The field has 1:6 odds to win. You gotta bet $100 on the field in Vegas just to win $15.

How about you take a man's bet. I'll give you two golfers to pick who will win it. I get Tiger. Hat of your/my choice under $30 to the winner.

Yeah, that same storm rolled through down here too. I was dark as night, then the rain came.

Who are your two players, wise ass? I'll need all wagers before play resumes. I'll even let you pick Poulter, who already has a three stroke advantage over El Tigre. I'm giving everyone a huge head start here.

If either of your two picks win the US Open, you get a hat. If Tiger wins, I get a hat.

Pussies.

Weather window looks bigger than originally forecasted now - hopefully they can get a lot in this morning. It was insane the # of buses they had this morning funneling people to Merion. For those of you not familiar with the area the golf course is smack in the middle of a Main Line Philadelphia neighborhood - not really any parking to be had. Should be a boisterous crowd all weekend.

Bussing in from scenic Chester. What a striking juxtaposition that must be for newcomers to the area. From crumbling, brick, grafitti-covered row houses in the slum to old-money, brick, ivy-covered mansions on the Main Line.

I'll take Mickelson and Mahan. Both at E through 5/6 holes...
