Aaron or Bonds: Who's your home run king?

Post by lifesapuntreturn »

With Bonds closing in on Aaron, who do you think is the all time home run king, Aaron or Bonds? Do you think Bonds 'juiced'? If so, does it matter regarding the home run title? Whether you're a baseball fan or just a casual observer, what do you think?

For me, Aaron is the man - period. Barry who?

Forget both of them. I'll take Ruth and Mays over the both of them because they were more versatile. Aaron and Bonds (especially Bonds since about 1997 or so) are just one-trick ponies. Ruth pitched and Mays could run a whole lot more than Aaron or Bonds could.

Heck, I'll take Bonds' dad over him. I don't like bad attitudes, and Bobby didn't have one like Barry does.

Bonds, when he breaks it. Roids or no roids, how many pitchers were on roids during that time we don't know. Bonds was good before the late 90's when roids took over. 756 > 755 period. Then A-Rod should pass Bonds later on. Oh and I'm a Braves fan.

it's not the same as live. I never watch recorded games. Baseball is unimportant to me. I'll stick with Football and College Basketball (in March)

Hammerin' Hank - by far. It was obvious that he wasn't juiced. Bonds stinks!

Aaron and Maris, until A-Rod or Ryan Howard break their records.

I also like Ruth & Mays.

When Bonds breaks the record, he will be the record holder, nobody can take that away. But the solace I take is that when all is said and done, he won't be

It means that ARod, Pujols, etc will surpass him eventually, so he's only borrowing the crown

lucchesicourt wrote:That is easy, it is still Babe Ruth for a couple of reasons.First looking at homeruns per ABs and Ruth is tops, and secondly Ruth hit his in an era when he hit more HRs than entire teams. No player today can do that!!!
Not to mention, he was 94-46 as a pitcher and carried a 2.28 ERA. Then there's that legendary moment that NO player today could ever pull off. The Called Shot.

Don't know if anyone realizes this, but parks these days are alot smaller than those in the Ruth era. I believe if I'm not mistaken that where monument park in Yankee Stadium used to be a playable portion of the outfield

This discussion is useless. The "real" record is 868 home runs. I doubt that Bonds, A-Rod, etc., will pass that.
