McCollum is my sleeper pick for rookie of the yr!!!JALMOND wrote:Surprising. Some mock drafts as late as this morning had the Blazers taking him at #10. Blazers take Lehigh's C.J. McCollum to complement fellow FCS alum, Weber's Damian Lillard.
I don't think he will get enough touches to be considered for ROY. Initial talks are that he will shore up our terrible bench, basically replacing Eric Maynor and Nolan Smith. He will still be behind Matthews on the depth chart at first, and most likely the whole season. Also, what has intrigued most Blazer fans that since the Olympics is playing Batum at the 2 (Batum played primarily the 2 on the French national team in the Olympics) which would cut into more minutes for McCollum at that position. Look for McCollum to back up Lillard, maybe play some alongside Lillard but probably not enough time for much consideration. If McCollum comes in and amazes, however...dal4018 wrote:McCollum is my sleeper pick for rookie of the yr!!!JALMOND wrote:Surprising. I was hoping he'd be there at #4 for the Hornets. Going #1 was a shocker!dal4018 wrote:Say hello to the no.1 overall selection in the NBA draft!!!!!! The updated version of ex UNLV star Larry Johnson. He is now a Cleveland Cavalier!!!!

Not a wasted pick. Blazers starters logged the most minutes of any starting 5 in the league. Lillard played the most of anyone, rookie or veteran. We needed someone to shore up the bench and McCollum should be a good one.dal4018 wrote:This might comeback to haunt them down the road.A waisted pick.JALMOND wrote:
