WFA Conference Championships

The Chicago Force survived monsoon-like conditions in Chicago to beat the previously undefeated Boston Militia 46-27 in today's first WFA conference title game. Boston battled back from a halftime shutout to close the gap to 12 late before the rain (which produced a couple of delays, including a second-half lightning delay) affected their play. Boston's punter missed a snap in her own end zone, and it was recovered by Chicago for the game's final touchdown. A furious Militia drive with less than three minutes left after recovering a Chicago fumble ended in disaster with a pick that sealed the deal. The win may prove costly for the Force, however, as WWC All-Star and WFA All-American WR Jeanette Gray went down with a shoulder injury. Gray's availability for the championship (much less the WFA All-Star Game) is unknown at this time.
The Force thus punch the first ticket for the WFA Championship Game in a couple of weeks at San Diego's historic Balboa Stadium, the first home of the San Diego Chargers following their move south from Los Angeles.
After three quarters, the host Dallas Diamonds lead the Central Cal War Angels 27-6.
