I never said it did.Col Hogan wrote:Almost only counts in horseshoes, hand grenades, and nuclear bombs...dal4018 wrote:He nearly brought them from behind losing 49-42 throwing for a school record 464 yds including a career long of 95 second longest in school history.
Doesn't count in football...
Johnny Football might as well be a pro. So piss off!BDKJMU wrote:Wrong forum....
AJ? Since when are you on a first-name basis with Alabama's starting QB?ASUMountaineer wrote:If not for the pick in the end zone, Johnny Football could have been the front-runner for another Heisman after this game. Incredible play by both him and AJ.

PS. It's just a sports pet peeve of mine- nothing personal.

How is he still not the front runner for the Heisman? He's going to have ridiculous numbers and he's going to have tons of press. The QB from Louisville put up pedestrian numbers against a lowly Kentucky team, so he's probably out. Hard to say there's anyone even close to Johnny Football with regards to the Heisman race.ASUMountaineer wrote:If not for the pick in the end zone, Johnny Football could have been the front-runner for another Heisman after this game. Don't sell Mariota short. Playing most of his games late will hurt him, but he has eye-popping numbers so far and a relatively easy schedule.GannonFan wrote:How is he still not the front runner for the Heisman? He may be, but beating Bama would solidified it.GannonFan wrote:How is he still not the front runner for the Heisman? He's going to have ridiculous numbers and he's going to have tons of press. Nah, he still would've had to do what he will have to do, regardless of beating Bama or not - he needs to put up the numbers and the highlights. If he beat Bama and then was just pedestrian the rest of the year, Bama wouldn't have mattered. It's still just one game, and he still plays in the SEC (although a very top heavy SEC) - it's a season award, as long as you don't blow chunks in a particular game.ASUMountaineer wrote:He may be, but beating Bama would solidified it.GannonFan wrote:

Bridgewater certainly had a pedestrian day against a team that will be one of the worst in the SEC.GannonFan wrote:How is he still not the front runner for the Heisman? Yup. Dude is a beast. And, as a Tennessee fan... gave me a sad last weekend.Grizalltheway wrote: Don't sell Mariota short. Playing most of his games late will hurt him, but he has eye-popping numbers so far and a relatively easy schedule.
It's really related to late season heroics more so than a full season, imo.GannonFan wrote:it's a season award, as long as you don't blow chunks in a particular game.
Let me try again...it would have solidified his front runner status, not the award. Really, you're splitting hairs here.GannonFan wrote:Nah, he still would've had to do what he will have to do, regardless of beating Bama or not - he needs to put up the numbers and the highlights. Who's splitting hairs now? He's still the front runner. Mariota is the only one close to him right now and Johnny Football would get the vote over him right now. It's not like he had a bad game against Bama - sure they lost, but he threw for a ton of yards, threw all over the field, and almost brought them back to win at the end. And that's probably the toughest defense he'll play against unless they play again. He is the front runner today.ASUMountaineer wrote:Let me try again...it would have solidified his front runner status, not the award. Really, you're splitting hairs here.GannonFan wrote:

Blah blah blah...do you want me to agree with you?GannonFan wrote:Who's splitting hairs now? He's still the front runner. Because it sounds like you personally know the guy. When 99% of fans don't know anyone on their favorite team. Stop acting like they're your cousin or something. Like I said, pet peeve. Not much rhyme or reason to it.clenz wrote:why?rkwittem wrote: AJ? Since when are you on a first-name basis with Alabama's starting QB?

Sort of like when you referred to Bo Pelini as "Bo" in that thread? Don't worry, I pointed it out for you there. It's a silly pet peeve, especially on a message board.rkwittem wrote:Because it sounds like you personally know the guy. When 99% of fans don't know anyone on their favorite team. Come on Lenz (since I don't know you personally, just keeping with the theme)clenz wrote:it implies no such thing.rkwittem wrote: Because it sounds like you personally know the guy. For christ sake. Quit being so nit picky. People have names for a reason. Do you really refer to everyone by their number or some title?rkwittem wrote:Because it sounds like you personally know the guy. When 99% of fans don't know anyone on their favorite team.
