The Giants, while they have the 2 Super Bowls, have made the playoffs just 7 times since 2000, and 2 times since 2007. Though, I suppose that does make it easier to be 0-6...something about finding lightning in a bottle/sun shines on a donkey's ass..


Success never takes the sting away from starting the season like the Giants have....if anything, it makes it worse. As a Viking fan it sucks to see the record at 1-4 but let's be real, it's the Vikings, what else did I honestly expect? It's like being a UNI Panther fan...usually a lot of hype, pretty good regular seasons, and fall flat in the playoffs.

The Eagles are the only Philly team that I don't follow. I'm a Rams fan, and when they sucked the last few years I didn't spend my fall Sundays reminiscing about the 1999/2000 season. If that works for you, have at it; sounds like you're a bandwagon fan.

2000 was a long time ago. I'm talking about a Super Bowl that happened in 2012 -- last year.

Look, I try to have some perspective on these things. Yes, the Giants are 0-6, but I knew going into the year that this wasn't going to be their year anyway. It's just worse than I expected.

Anyway, if you had told me the night before Super Bowl XLII that the Giants would win that game, AND Super Bowl XLVI too, but would start the 2013 season 0-6, I would have signed on to that deal without flinching.

The team could pay tribute to the political city it represents with this name change. It may be a bit obvious, but calling the team the Senators actually makes a lot of sense: Just like real senators, they come around every year, energizing the nation's capitol and making everyone think this time it'll be different, only to inevitably let the people who support them down.

The Washington Honkies
Finally give white people a taste of their own medicine with this name change. Make the new mascot a guy dancing poorly with his collar popped way up. Calling the them the Washington Honkies would also open the team up to the possibility of a lucrative partnership with Vineyard Vines to make all their jerseys.
