Former Coastal Carolina quarterback Tyler Thigpen is flying to St. Louis on Monday night for a tryout Tuesday with the St. Louis Rams.

Thigpen was in the National Football League for six years with the Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills after being drafted out of CCU by the Minnesota Vikings, but has been an unsigned free agent since his contract with the Bills concluded at the end of the 2012 regular season.

The Rams lost starting quarterback Sam Bradford for the remainder of the season to a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee on Sunday in a loss to the Carolina Panthers that dropped St. Louis to 3-4.

Thigpen has maintained his workouts and regular throwing sessions in Myrtle Beach throughout training camp, the preseason and the first seven weeks of the 2013 season.

Let me state the obvious: Thigpen is getting a chance and Tebow is not.

My lasting memory of Thigpen was the final game of the regular season in '09 where we were fighting for a playoff spot and just rallied with 2 TD in four minutes in the 4th quarter to cut the lead to 27-24 and JUST got the ball back on a fumble recovery inside their 20, stadium rocking and this fool decides to throw into triple coverage and gets intercepted. Completely killing all the momentum we had, and literally 2 minutes later Houston won their game eliminating us from the playoffs.

**** Tyler Thigpen
Spoiler: show
honestly tho, he did look good on his two scoring drives
