ESPN is reporting that Houston has cut former Ravens All-Star safety Ed Reed and placed RB Arian Foster on Injured Reserve (bulging disc), effectively ending his season.
Reed's career (some say he's the best safety of all time) may be over; the Cowboys discussed signing him, but ultimately decided not to.

Ed should have retired with RayRay last year. This is nothing new for people familiar with Reed. He's a loose cannon and has diarehha of the mouth. His leadership mojo didn't transfer over to Houston. He had umpteen years of ProBowls here in Baltimore, 16 tackles in 7 games for the Texans just don't cut it to put up with his shit. It's sad when players don't know when the time to go is.

Sort of like Namath and Hadl with the Rams, Unitas with the Chargers, and Montana with KC?

Montanta had a few productive years in KC. Ed wasn't himself for the last 3 years in Baltimore. He emptied the tank in last years post season. Ravens didn't even ofer him a contract after the Texans did. Everyone knew it was one last payday, but the Texans.

I had heard from Hacksaw this morning that the secondary-deficient Chargers were looking at him, but apparently the Jets beat them to the punch....

Yes as stated before the Jets snatched him up quickly. They didn't want him to be signed by New England.

Or he can actually help a not so great secondary especially considering he already knows the system. He won't be as good as he was with Baltimore but should help the Jets secondary some.

Rex Ryan will know when to play him. He's only been out of his defense for the last 3 years.
